Das ist eines der schönsten Stücke in der Flötenliteratur überhaupt, wie ich finde. Auch in einer von Beethoven goutierten Version für Flöte und Klavier verfügbar. Unglaublich lebendig, wunderbare Melodien und viel Pfiff.
Entstand vermutlich etwa 1795 oder 1796. Die Erstausgabe erschien 1802 in Wien.

Op. 77a is dedicated to Albert Eisenberg and had premiere in 1904 in Munich. Op. 141a was written 1915.
Reger wrote in the accompanying letter to his editor: "Enclosed you will find something very easy, simple and melodic..... But I ask you heartily not to disregard this unimpressive work, because it will be able to make me lots of new friends...."
For op. 141a an alternative violine part is included.
