Born in Mönchenholzen (near Erfurt). Maybe already on the 08.03.
Musical education from the father, who was cantor and teacher.
1873
Student of the grand duke´s orchestra and music school in Weimar. In the same year concert journey (piano) to the USA and conductor in Baltimore.
1876
Return to Weimar and continuation of his studies, member of the thursday meetings at Liszt´s
1877
until 1880 member of military band due to serving
1880
Changing engagements as conductor of choirs in different cities throughout Germany.
13.01.1942
Dies in Weimar.
