Continues his studies in Berlin with Hindemith, sponsored by playing the clarinet and piano in a band.

Head of studies at the Breslau opera for three years

Olympic bronze medal in the category "solo and choir singing> for his work Der Läufer
1939
Back to Berlin, living of composition until the end of war
1940
Military service playing clarinet and later in medical service
1942
Leave of absence to play concerts for the troups
1946
Lectorship for composition in Freiburg (called by Scheck)
1957
Professorship for composition in Munich
1991
Maximilian Order for Arts and Sciences
2002
His wife Gisela dies
