Biography of Julius Rietz (1812-1877)

Born in Berlin
studies with Bernhard Romberg and Karl Friedrich Zelter, being also the teacher of Mendelssohns who became a life long friend to Rietz.
Went with Mendelssohn to Düsseldorf, first as his assistant later following him as the cities musical director.
Follows Mendelssoh after his dead, being chapelmaster in Leipzig.
