Johann Georg Tromlitz
- Born on the 8th of november 1725 in Reinsdorf, Germany
- Started about 1750
to build flutes, being
dissatisfied with the
available instruments.
- Since 1754 first flutist
at the "Big Concert"
(ancestor of todays
Gewandhaus-Orchestra)
- 1776 leaving the orchestra for
touring and
teaching.
- Since 1785 drawback
from playing concertos
restricting himself to
the enhancement of
the flute.
- At the end his flute
had eight keys
and could be played only
by very skilful musicians.
- 1786 he wrote a
short article
about playing
the flute.
- Died on the 4th of
february 1805 in Leipzig
