• First learning piano, later on violine and cello
• First flute lessons at the age of 9.
• Education at the Interlochen Arts Academy and the Juilliard School in New York ander Julius Baker
• One year before finishing studies becoming first flute in Montreal
• Marriage with the solo bassoonist David Carroll
• Changing to the Toronto Symphony Orchester after nine years
• Being solo flutist at the New York philharmonics for 16 years
• Teaching at Juillard School and at Manhattan School of Music for the same time.
• Since 1997 teaching also at Carnegie Mellon
