First flute lessons from his father, after whos death he tramped to Rome and was teached and was sheltered by a singer from the Sistine Chapel

Teacher at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia after earning a degree from this institute himself.

Flute teacher of the brother of the king of Naples

Concert tour through Europa and the USA

Encounter with Böhm and first time playing on a silver flute with cylindrical bore and conic parabolic head joint.
1849
During living in London, Rudall & Carte built the first flute with a b-key commissioned by him. Thus the system of Böhm was enhanced.
1871
Flute teacher at the Florence conservatory, flute workshop of his own.
1879
Lectorship for flute at Florence music institute
Was said to be the greatest flutist of all times.
