Had to leave secondary school before the final examinations, because he didn't want to follow the rules of Nationalsozialism
Studies flute and piano in Weimar
1942
Military service induces a break of his studies. He is wounded in Russia and thus his hope on a carreer as an instrumentalist was destroyed (Paralysis of the right hand).
After war he continues his studis in Weimar (conducting and opera direction)

Director of the opera in Jena, Sondershausen and Crimmitschau

Studies in Berlin with Blacher
1957
Moves to Austria
1964
Austrian citizenship
1973
Appreciation reward for music of the Austrian Ministry for school and arts and member of the academy of arts in Berlin

A serious accident in the mountains forces the composer to resign temporarily from his autonomy
