Born in Würzburg, son of a violin maker
Studies music in Italy on a scholarship sponsored by the elector of Mannheim with Padre Martini (Bologna) and Valotti (Padua), ordination to the priesthood in Roma
1775
Returns to Mannheim and becomes caplain and second band master at the court
Concert tours playing organ and piano, teaching a lot, among his students for example Weber and Meyerbeer

Dies in Darmstadt
