First flutist of the Societe des Concerts du Conservatoire, with which he went on concert tour through America, where he was asked to stay at the Boston Symphony.

Principal flutist of Boston Symphony Orchestra until 1952

Foundation of the Boston Flute Players Club

Teacher at the New England Conservatory in Boston

Martinu dedicates his flute sonata to him
